Fortifications of the Sudeten Line

About the place

Concrete forts, casemates and shelters from 1938. The last line of defense against Hitler that was never used.

History of Concrete

In 1938, in the face of the threat from the Third Reich, the Czechoslovak army (and the Polish army on the border) built huge fortifications here. The thickness of the walls reaches 2 meters! The bunkers still stand today, often hidden in forests.

What will you see?

You can go inside (take a flashlight!). You will feel the coldness of the concrete and see:

  • CKM positions:Narrow firing ranges for machine guns.
  • Armored Domes:Steel observation dishes.
  • Corridors:Tight labyrinths connecting fighting chambers.

Most Interesting Objects (Car Route)

  1. Shelter S-14 “Kłodzko”:The largest (artillery fort). Revitalized, ticketed.
  2. Shelter S-7 “Bystrzyca”:Perfectly preserved (with guide).
  3. Shelter S-31 “Stronie”:The nearest one is Gołąbka (12 km). Wild, open, free.

ℹ️ Practical info

  • Temperature:Constant 8-10°C (bring a sweatshirt!).
